A solar-synced charger does the opposite: it draws from your surplus generation during the day and only tops up from the grid when it has to. Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need three-phase power for an EV charger?
No. A single-phase 7kW charger adds roughly 40km of range per hour, which covers overnight charging for most drivers. Three-phase is worth it for fleets or very high daily mileage.
Can the charger run purely on solar?
It can be configured to charge only from surplus generation, or to blend solar with a minimum grid draw so charging still completes on cloudy days. You choose the behaviour.
Will it overload my switchboard?
Not with load management installed, which throttles the charger when the rest of the house is drawing heavily. We assess switchboard capacity before quoting.
Can you install chargers at a workplace?
Yes. We install multi-bay workplace and fleet charging with access control and usage reporting, commonly alongside a commercial solar array.
