Switchboard Upgrades in Moreton Bay & the Sunshine Coast

Licensed switchboard upgrades, safety switches and solar, battery and EV-ready boards across Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and Noosa.

When to upgrade

Signs your switchboard needs an upgrade

Many homes across Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast still run on switchboards installed decades ago. If any of these apply, have a licensed electrician inspect it.

Old ceramic fuses

Rewireable fuses instead of circuit breakers are a sign the board is well past its best.

No safety switches

Boards without safety switches (RCDs) on every circuit leave people unprotected from electric shock.

Frequent tripping

Breakers or fuses that trip regularly can point to overloaded circuits or faults.

Heat or burn marks

Scorching, buzzing or a burning smell need urgent attention from an electrician.

Adding solar or a battery

New solar, batteries and inverters often need space and protection an old board cannot provide.

EV charger or new appliances

A 7 kW or 22 kW EV charger, ducted air or induction cooking can push an old board over its limit.

Safety first: never open or work inside a switchboard yourself. If you see scorch marks, smell burning or hear buzzing, switch off at the main switch if it is safe to do so and call a licensed electrician.

FAQ

Switchboard upgrade questions

How do I know if my switchboard needs upgrading?

Old ceramic fuses, no safety switches, frequent tripping, scorch marks or plans to add solar, a battery or an EV charger are the most common signs. We inspect the board and tell you honestly whether it needs replacing.

How long does a switchboard upgrade take?

Most home switchboard upgrades are completed in a day, with the power off for part of that time. We confirm timing before we start.

Do I need a new switchboard for solar or a battery?

Not always. Many newer boards have room and protection for solar and battery circuits. Older boards often need an upgrade, which we include in your fixed price.

Do you do switchboard upgrades on the Sunshine Coast and in Noosa?

Yes. We cover the Sunshine Coast and Noosa from our Mooloolaba office, and Moreton Bay from our Upper Caboolture base.
